Obituary for Clarence Henry Paris

Clarence Henry Paris, father of Larry, Andrew (Jackie) and Neal (Tina) Paris, grandfather of Tim, Leah, Joshua (Laurie), Lorah (Josh), Jason (Jen) and Nathan, great grandfather of Danijah, Lorenzo, Amarah and Saije and great great grandfather of Kelayah, went to be with our Lord on October 10, 2018 at the grand age of 106.
Clarence was self taught in all he did in life. He was an avid reader; he built his own home and furniture. He could sew, upholster and do carpentry.
As a child, he shoveled coal. Later he emptied boxcars for the railroad and was a short order cook. He was a meat cutter and meat salesman for Armour.
At the age of 18, he married the love of his life, Mary Elizabeth White.
After WWII started, he joined the Navy and assisted in the liberation of the Phillipines, receiving the Phillipine Liberation Medal.
He returned to Armour selling meat after the war.
He was preceded in death by his wife and sons Larry and Neal with whom he has now, with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, been rejoined; no pain, no suffering, no sadness, no tears.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center, 100 Veterans Dr. Wilmore, KY by Chaplain Bob Barnard and Chaplain Diane Munoz.
The arrangements were entrusted to the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY 40361.
The online guestbook is at and a 24 hour funeral information line can be reached by calling 859-987-4387.
