Obituary for Martha J. Jackson

Martha J. Jackson, 87, ascended into her heavenly home on March 30, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born April 1, 1930 and was a life long native of Bourbon County where she spent forty plus years serving God faithfully as a member of Central Baptist Church. Martha truly lived life to the fullest through the simple pleasures of reading her Bible lessons and faithfully spending many hours a day praying for her family, friends, and anyone she came into contact with throughout her life. She was also a devoted member of her WOW (Women of Wisdom) group at Central Baptist Church, where she dedicated her time sending “Get Well” cards to anyone who needed to know they were being prayed for. She touched many lives with her faithfulness and passion for life.
Martha was welcomed into her Heavenly home by her husband, William “Bill” Russell Jackson, who she had longed to see for many years. As well as her parents, Charles and Beatrice Lawrence, two sisters, Betty Lawrence and Juanita Tipton, and two brothers, Charles Lawrence Jr. and Robert Morris.
She is survived by one brother, Gayle Lawrence of Paris.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by the lives of her daughters: Barbara Sue (Ricky) Stone of Lexington, Phyllis Kay Jackson, Wendy Jackson Berry, and Wilma (Karl) Florence all of Paris. As well as seven grandchildren: Timmy (Kathleen) Jones of St. Peters, MO, James (Ashley) Jones of Paris, KY, Amanda (Adam) Hill of Resaca, GA, Matthew (Melissa) Berry of Greer, SC, Megan (Elizabeth) Florence, Danielle (Josh) Davis both of Millersburg, and Mickey Stone of Lexington (currently serving our country in Iraq). Fifteen great grandchildren who lit up her world when they visited, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Central Baptist Church, 829 High Street, Paris KY, 40361. Pastor Steven Scherer will be conducting the celebration. Visitation will be from 10:00am till 2:00pm with funeral following at 2:30pm. Internment will be private at the Paris Cemetery.
Pall Bearers will be: Karl Florence, Ricky Stone, Timmy Jones, James Jones, Matthew Berry, and Adam Hill. Honorary Pall Bearers are her Granddaughters, fifteen Great-Grandchildren, and the WOW (Women of Wisdom) ladies group from Central Baptist Church.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Bluegrass Care Navigators (Hospice), WedCo Home Health, the wonderful staff on floor 3A at St. Joseph Hospital, Bourbon County EMS, and Bourbon Community Hospital for the great care given to our mother. Also a special thank you to her long time family care physician Dr. C. Ray Young and his staff at Bluegrass Family Clinic. Thank you to all others who called, texted, sent cards, flowers, brought food, and prayed for our beautiful mother and our family.
