Obituary for Eloise Hall Mack

Eloise Hall Mack, a long-time past resident of Paris, Kentucky, died Saturday, the 7th of October at her home in Irving, Texas. She was born on October 6, 1927 in Conley, Alabama, the daughter of William Hall and Mary Jane Hare. Her birth mother was a Native American of the Cherokee Tribe located in Lowndes County of Alabama. Because her mother died giving birth, Eloise was never able to know, or fully appreciate her Native American culture. Eloise was later brought to Kentucky by William Hall who had subsequently married Ethel Russell, where they eventually settled in Paris, Kentucky. It was there that she grew up with her parents and siblings , Dorothy Watkins (predeceased) and Drucilla Lewis.
She was married to Wash Mack Jr in 1946, and served as a loving wife and partner helping to raise their five children. She became a member of the Ruckersville Shorter Chapel Church, but later moved her membership of 8th Street First Baptist Church where she remained an active member until she moved out of the area. Eloise had an extraordinarily maternalistic love for her children and family. After her husband’s death, she began her journey of travel, nationally and internationally to spend quality time with each of her children, grand children, and all the many great grands and great-great grands. For them she was known as the mother/grandmother with the beautiful smile that could light up any room and every heart.

She leaves behind a loving sister Drucilla Lewis of Dayton, Ohio, and three daughters, Thelma Louise Henderson from Irving, Texas, Elaine Thaxton from Trenton, NJ/recently relocated to Irving, Texas, and her daughter, Yvette Wilson from Lexington, Ky. She was predeceased by her husband Wash Mack, and her two other children Larry J. Mack and Joyce Marie Willis. Also surviving her death is twelve grandchildren, Margin Willis Jr, Trisha Henderson, Randi Renee Johnson, Djranell Henderson, Thuy Thu Gladney, Thu Nhan Warner, Sam La Mack, Anthony D. Mack, Robert Wilson, Caulbert Wilson and Ronyale Kennedy.

She was blessed to be a great grandmother to nineteen wonderful great-grand children, Tevin and Janay Gladney, Theron and Avery Warner, Margin III and Tatiana Willis, Tundanna Henderson and Randal Louis Henderson, Zateece and Demeco Kennedy, Atyiana Wilson, Day’quirous Young, Mahki and Kaulbert Wilson, Texas Luna Mack, Shalamar Wilson Gray, Delauna and DeMarius Wilson and Ginasia Smithers, and James, Ryan and Ethan Mack. Also survived by a host of beautiful great-great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family members and friends. The family will truly miss her. She was that solid anchor that kept us grounded and moving forward in a positive way throughout the 90 years that God has blessed her to be on this earth.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Lusk McFarland Funeral Homes, 1120 Main Street, Paris, Kentucky. Graveside Services will be held at the Paris Cemetery immediately following the services. The family will receive visitors between 10:00 am -11:00 am.
